Sip, Taste, Cheer and Cruise with the Bay County Spartans in 2019

Looking for fun and fellowship with area Spartans? We’ve got a variety of events coming your way this year. All of our events are open to the general public, no club membership required!

Our Game Watch gatherings for football and basketball have been very popular among members. Typically scheduled twice per season, they are open to everyone. Our next Game Watch is Sunday, February 24th at JT’s Pub in Bay City when we go toe to toe with the Wolverines. With both teams currently in the top ten, this game is going to be about more than the usual rivalry.

Our premier event, Educated Taste, is set for Wednesday, May 8th at Arbeitor Hall (above Governor’s Quarters). This event, now in its 9th year, allows us to fulfill our mission of supporting future Spartans with scholarship awards. Also well attended, this lively evening features a variety of beer and wine vendors (with the occasional spirits or cider appearance) showcasing libations paired with creative hors d’oeuvres with a backdrop of live music, raffle opportunities, and of course a curated variety of merchandise and experiences up for auction. Tickets will go on in March via club members and a link on our site and Facebook.

The highlight of the summer season is our biannual Cruise on the Princess Wenonah. Purely social and geared for fun, the event is headlined by a live band (usually our “house band” Under Advisement) on Wednesday, August 14 at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy dinner on the water while we cruise the Saginaw River to Saginaw Bay. Dancing is encouraged after a visit to the cash bar. Look for tickets to go on sale later this spring.

Our Young Alumni coordinator is looking for recent grads in the area. If you graduated in the last 10 years and are interested in a meet up, send us a message and tell us what kind of activities you would like to see!
